Good Evening Everyone!  I hope the snow we had did not discourage you…. spring is coming!  I thought tonight I would share some of Bob’s words of wisdom he would share during his PBS show.

Bob was a wise person and the quotes I am going to share with you relate to more than painting…. they also relate to life:

“Anything we don’t like, we’ll turn it into a happy little tree or something; we don’t make mistakes, we just have happy accidents.”

“…that may be the true joy of painting, when you share it with other people.  I really believe that’s the true joy.”

“Friends are the most important commodity in the world.  Even a tree needs a friend.”

“If we all painted the same way, what a boring world it would be.”

“Sometimes you learn more from your mistakes than you do from your masterpiece.”

“The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it.  Anything that you believe you can do strong enough, you can do.  Anything.  As long as you believe.”

“Talent is a pursued interest.  Anything that you’re willing to practice, you can do.”

“This is not something you should labor over or worry about.  If painting does nothing else, it should make you happy.”

“It’s the imperfections that make something beautiful.  That’s what makes it different and unique from everything else.”

“Let’s make some nice, little clouds that just float around and have fun all day.”

“We each see the world in our own way.  That’s what makes it such a special place.”

“That’s when you experience joy – when you have no fear.”

“Every single thing in the world has its own personality, and it is up to you to make friends with the little rascals.”

“We spend so much of our life looking but never seeing.”

“Every day is a good day when you paint.”

“Don’t be afraid to go out on the limb, because that’s where the fruit is.”

“You’re the greatest thing that has even been or every will be.  You’re special.  You’re so very special.”

“The very fact that you’re aware of suffering is enough reason to be overjoyed that you’re alive and can experience it.”

“If painting teaches you nothing else, it’ll teach you to appreciate some of the beauty that’s around us every day that we take for granted.”

WOW!  Insightful, thought-provoking wisdom!  I hope some of Bob’s quotes touched you and made you think about things, not only in art, but in life, the way it touched me!

I think that it goes to show that art is life, and life is art!

Happy painting and creating my friends!

Good Night!
